This past weekend, one point from the shepherds’ meeting stood out. Pastor reminded the leaders that our goals should not remain just “goals,” but that we must truly seek to make them a reality. Stepping into 2026, Olivet Teen Mission (OTM) encourages all chapters and members that this can be the year when many goals are actually accomplished. Of course, it is not by our own power but by God’s. Still, our determination matters.
When we move forward with conviction and absolute faith, there will surely be fruit and results. But if we remain doubtful or double minded, things become unstable and the foundation is not strong. God can work despite our sins and weaknesses, but our faith and determination really do shape how God’s work unfolds among us. In the work of God’s Kingdom, it is not so much about our effort, but the posture of our hearts that truly matters.
Sometimes we set the same goals year after year, and we may lose faith or passion. Yet this year can still be different because of the hope we have in Christ, the promises of God’s Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit. So we should enter this year with determination.
For example, last year an OTM leader made up their mind with absolute determination to evangelize someone, even though they had not been able to evangelize anyone for several years. They set a regular time for prayer and prayed earnestly. With even that small but sincere determination, God answered quickly. The leader realized how important the attitude of our heart is. When we pray seriously and decide firmly, God truly works.
So OTM hopes and prays for all members and chapters to have this kind of heart for the year ahead, regardless of the past, moving forward with great hope for what God will do. May the Holy Spirit renew everyone’s faith, will, and passion to finish the good work God has started in them, coworking alongside Him every step of the way.
